The qtumproject/qtum GitHub repository is the official source code repository for the Qtum project.

Qtum is a decentralized blockchain project built on Bitcoin's UTXO model, with support for Ethereum Virtual Machine-based smart contracts, and secured by a proof-of-stake consensus model. It's designed to reduce the segregation between blockchain and mainstream business functionalities by integrating the best parts of both Bitcoin and Ethereum into a business-friendly blockchain. This repository contains all the source code of the Qtum project.

It provides a platform for building mobile decentralized applications and IoT (Internet of Things) devices. It's also one of the rare cryptocurrencies that support PoS smarter contracts. Qtum is compatible with existing Ethereum contracts as well as Bitcoin gateways, and will maintain backward-compatibility even if the system is updated.

The repository is written in C++, Python, JavaScript, Shell, QMake, and M4 and includes detailed instructions on how it can be built from source on a variety of systems.
