The GCHQ/CyberChef is a web app that carries out multiple operations relevant to data analysis and cyber security such as encoding, decoding, compression, and data analysis of varied kinds of data. CyberChef was developed by a British intelligence agency called GCHQ (Government Communication Headquarters) and was released as an open-source project.
In other words, CyberChef is a simple, intuitive web application for carrying out numerous cyber operations including hashing, encryption, encoding, as well as other types of cyber data manipulations. It can work offline too, and serves as a useful tool for cybersecurity professionals for quick data conversion and verification tasks.
The operations are carried out in the web browser itself and can handle fairly significant data sizes, with the output data produced instantly for most operations.
