Activity of zcash/zips repository

The zcash/zips GitHub repository is the main source for the Zcash Improvement Proposals (ZIPs), which are the formal proposals to implement changes in the Zcash project. Users can propose technical changes or enhancements that affect the Zcash protocol and applications built atop it, then submit these proposals in a well-defined way.

The repository includes the contents of ZIPs 0 through 9999, along with their discussion history and their version in PDF format. ZIP Editors, who are selected from the Zcash Foundation, are in charge of managing the acceptance and rejection of new ZIPs.

In the repository, you can see various information such as the ZIP number, title, owner, the layer it belongs to, discussions and issue number related to the ZIP, and the status of the ZIP which is indicated as either Draft, Active, Proposed Edit, Deferred, or Rejected.

Please note that final ZIPs are recorded on the Zcash GitHub repository, not a personal fork.

Anyone can submit a ZIP where proposals are open to community feedback and must be approved by a ZIP editor before they are accepted. When a ZIP is accepted, and "assigned" a number, it is considered "Active".
