The ton-blockchain/ton
GitHub repository holds the core source code for the TON (Telegram Open Network) Blockchain.
TON Blockchain was an ambitious blockchain project initially initiated by Telegram, a widely used messaging app. The primary goal of this project was to develop a blockchain-based cryptocurrency called Grams and a decentralized platform for hosting and executing smart contracts and decentralized applications (DApps).
The repository contains code that is written in C/C++ programming language and uses cmake as a build system. The overall architecture of TON includes Lite Client, Validator, and Full Node.
The repository also includes a detailed guide for building components from the source code and how to setup a lite client.
Note: As of August 2020, Telegram officially announced that it had stopped developing the TON Blockchain due to regulatory issues with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission). However, the code remains available in the repository for anyone who might want to fork it and create their own version of the project, under the usage of the provided license agreement.
